Anyone who has primary school aged children (6 years plus) will know of the current worldwide sensation that is The Storey Treehouse books; written by Andy Griffiths and illustrated by Terry Denton.
Richard Tulloch has written a play based on the books that brings Andy, Terry, Jill and all of the favourite characters off the pages and alive on stage in the current touring production of The 91 Storey Treehouse.
Victoria Discovers were so excited to be invited to the opening Melbourne performance at the Playhouse in Arts Centre Melbourne. We sent some of our younger representatives along to check out if the play could really be as good as the books????
As we arrived in the foyer of Arts Centre Melbourne, we were taken aback by the enormous submarine sandwich (if you are a Storey Treehouse fan you will understand)
We hadn’t even gotten to our seat and we were already impressed. (Trust us if you have kids, impressing them with something that isn’t in a screen is no easy task).
Access to the submarine sandwich is available before and after all performances.
The hilarious, laugh out loud, hour long family show is just as sensational as the books.
Although the play is aimed at fans of the books, those who had not read them would find the adventure, comedy and animation of the production equally as entertaining. So it really doesn’t matter if you are a know it all or not…
The 91 Storey Treehouse will only be at Arts Centre Melbourne until 19th January and due to it popularity, tickets are selling fast. Book tickets now to avoid disappointment. Please also check the Arts Centre Melbourne website for dates and tickets for Auslan interpreted performances and relaxed performances.
