Victoria Discovers took a trip down the Mornington Peninsula to discover Gunnamatta Beach.

Gunnamatta Beach has two large free car parks. Victoria Discovers parked in car park 1 which also provided access to public toilets and showers.

Gunnamatta Beach is located between Cape Schanck Lighthouse and Rye Ocean Beach; both of which can both be accessed via the walking track.

To access Gunnamatta Beach from car park 1, there was a short steep walk over the sand dunes.

Then stairs down onto the beach.

There are also dedicated lifeguards on duty at various times of the year.

Victoria Discovers would strongly recommend only swimming between the red and yellow flags due to the size and power of the waves.

Gunnamatta Beach is a fantastic back beach suitable for surfing, bodyboarding, fishing or just chilling out on the beach.
