Victoria Discovers took a trip down to Mornington on the Mornington Peninsula to discover a geologist’s playground at Fossil Beach.
We parked in the small free car park at the top of the cliff.
Before we followed the short path down onto the beach.
The track is quite steep in parts so would be unsuitable for those requiring walking aids. There is also big drops near the edge so children should be supervised at all times.
There is no sand on the beach, just millions of different kinds of rock. Which all have their own special story to tell.
Dogs are also permitted off the lead on the beach and dedicated walkways
There is a picnic table located at the top of the hill next to the car park, which provides an excellent rest point for a spot of lunch with a view.
