Victoria Discovers was delighted to hear that the first whale of the 2020 whale season had been spotted at Number 16 Beach on the Mornington Peninsula. Unfortunately for us the whale had long gone. However we did discover the soft golden sand and the huge roaring waves that is the back beaches of the Mornington Peninsula.

Managing to park in the free car park, the Victoria Discovers Team headed up over the sand dunes for a day of discovery at Number 16 Beach.

We would like to point out that beach access is descending down some very steep steps. This may be unsuitable for prams and walking aids.

This spectacular beach is part of the Mornington Peninsula Costal walk (which is 30km from Cape Schanck to Point Napean).

Number 16 Beach is filled with adventure waiting to be discovered. Whether it’s jumping in the surf, checking out the rock pools,

exploring hidden coves and rock formations.

Or simply sit back and enjoy the majesty that is number 16 Beach.
