Victoria Discovers loves nothing better than getting out and about to discover treasures throughout the state of Victoria. One discovery day, Victoria Discovers took a trip to Inverloch to discover ‘The Mini Ocean Road.’ A 14km coastal road from Inverloch to Cape Patterson that features sand, sea and dinosaurs!!
Our journey began on the prestigious beaches of Inverloch. We parked easily in one of the many free parking spaces along ‘Surf Parade’. Although parking may become more difficult during peak season.
Our next stop was a little further along the beach to watch the surfers at the Life Saving Club.
A little further down the coast again, we discovered ‘The Caves’. One of only a few locations in Australia where dinosaur fossils have been discovered…
Our next discovery was the beautiful ‘Eagles Nest’. A fascinating rock formation broken away from the mainland, standing tall and bold on its own island.
Continuing to follow Cape Patterson – Inverloch Road, we came to the beautiful Shack Bay. This fast eroding cove is continuously uncovering secrets which have been hidden for millennia.
A quick stop at ‘Twin Reef’ allowed us to venture down onto the beach. We then explored the rocks and rock pools of this beautiful bay.
Our Final stop was the holiday makers dream beach of Cape Patterson.
The Mini Ocean Road is packed with spectacular scenery, incredible views and roaring history. All within the 14km coast on Involoch – Cape Patterson Road.
